SEC Week 5 Preview

Trent Richardson had a huge game against the Hogs
SEC Week 5 Preview

Ranking the SEC

1. Alabama- Bama has a great running game and the defense is as fast as I've ever seen

2. LSU- Great win for LSU in Morgantown. LSU isn't far at all behind Bama on this list

3. South Carolina- They win ugly, but this is the first Gamecock team since 2001 to start 4-0

4. Florida- Gators look very good early, but we'll know how strong they are when Bama comes to visit

5. Arkansas- Injuries are killing the Hogs right now as is the need to establish a solid running game

6. Georgia- The Dogs are starting to get back on track. Look for them to close strong

7. Auburn- The Tigers offense will keep it in their game against the Gamecocks in Columbia

8. Tennessee- How will the Vols offense recover from the loss of Hunter?

9. Mississippi State- Bulldogs needed overtime to beat a mediocre Louisiana Tech team

10. Vanderbilt- Not a good showing in Columbia, but the Commodores get a week off to prep for Alabama

11. Ole Miss- If Nutt doesn't beat Fresno State then The Rebels can officially start preparing for next year, there will be no hope

12. Kentucky- Cats are just bad and hopefully they can see that Phillips is destroying what Brooks built before it's to late

Week 5 Predictions(Last week 7-0 overall 31-7)

Georgia 31 Mississippi State 17- Georgia is about to start rolling and MSU is struggling.

South Carolina 38 Auburn 31- Tigers can't stop Lattimore and the Gamecocks defensive line will make some critical stops late

Arkansas 31 Texas A&M 27- Hogs dominate the series and will win their 3rd straight against the SEC's 13th member

LSU 38 Kentucky 3- Kentucky will struggle to get 150 yards of total offense and most of that will be late in the game

Tennessee 45 Buffalo 6- Unless the Bills are coming to Knoxville this game won't be close

Alabama 27 Florida 17- Muschamp faces his old mentor Saban, the mentor wins

Ole Miss 24 Fresno State 21- Over the last few years Pat Hill beats big boys and struggles with the little guys. Ole Miss isn't a big boy

Best and Worst of Week 4

Best game- Mississippi State being taken into overtime by Louisiana Tech. This was an ugly win for the Bulldogs, but it was great TV to see if Louisiana Tech could pull off the upset

Worst game- Florida whipping Kentucky. UK never had a chance and this game was over before the 1st quarter ended. UK has no offense and wasn't going to do much against Muschamp's defense

Best player- Trent Richardson running for 120 yards and catching a 61 yard TD pass as well in Bama's route of Arkansas

Worst player- Stephen Garcia of South Carolina who threw 4 interceptions against Vanderbilt

Best Moment- LSU fans running into West Virginia classes on Friday and yelling "Tiger Bait"

Worst Moment- Houston Nutt breaking out the flat billed cap for Saturday's Ole Miss-Georgia game. Houston was hoping to get the brains of Petrino and the luck of Les Miles by becoming a hat wearing coach. Unfortunately for Nutt the cap didn't work as the Rebels once again lost.
