The Battle for the Golden Boot means more than ever this Friday
Week 13 SEC Preview
Ranking the SEC
1. LSU- A win Saturday and LSU has their first ever 8-0 season in SEC Regular Season Play
2. Alabama- A win Saturday and Alabama will be in the National Championship Game without having to play in Atlanta
3. Arkansas- Hogs have beaten LSU 3 of the last 4 years, with the 1 loss coming in overtime
4. South Carolina- A win over Clemson will give the Gamecocks their first 10 win season since 1984
5. Georgia- Georgia started the year in Atlanta and they will end the year there
6. Auburn- A chance to knock Bama out of the National Championship Game is big motivation for Auburn
7. Florida- Falling behind 22-7 to Furman is never good
8. Mississippi State- Bulldogs looking for 3rd straight Egg Bowl win
9. Tennessee- Vols still need a win to go bowling
10. Vanderbilt- A win at Wake and Vandy is bowling, a loss and they are the same old Vandy
11. Kentucky- Cats will miss out on a bowl for the first time in 6 years
12. Ole Miss- The Nutt Era ends Saturday
Week 13 Predictions
LSU 28 Arkansas 23- The Hogs will move the ball, but LSU will force Arkansas to kick FGs and not score TDs
Alabama 35 Auburn 10- Last year's game was a classic, this year's will be a dud
Georgia 38 Georgia Tech 28- Richt wins his 10th straight as UGA prepares for the SEC Championship Game
Clemson 20 South Carolina 17- The highest combined win total ever entering this game for the Palmetto State Rivalry
Tennessee 20 Kentucky 10- An ugly game between two offenses that struggle to move the ball
Mississippi State 28 Ole Miss 14- Mullen sends Nutt packing. Where will he end up next?
Vanderbilt 24 Wake Forest 21- The Dores clinch a bowl birth with a close win in Winston-Salem
Florida State 28 Florida 17- Remember when this game actually meant something?
Bowl Outlook
LSU- Its really simple. Win the next two and the Tigers are playing for the National Championship. Lose to Arkansas and LSU will have to hope the voters and computers like them enough to stay ahead of Arkansas. If LSU were to lose to Arkansas and finish #3 in the BCS then the Capital One would not pass on LSU
Alabama- Beat Auburn and Bama should be a lock for the National Championship Game. Even a loss to Auburn and a LSU win over Arkansas should get Bama in the Sugar Bowl.
Arkansas- The Hogs must beat LSU and hope the pollsters move them up to #2 in the BCS(as they should). I don't see Sugar as possible for Arkansas because if they win they are likely in the NC Game, but if they lose they are going to slip to the Cotton or
Capital One Bowls. The Outback has never shown interest in the Hogs before and I doubt they would be available this year
South Carolina- Beat Clemson and the Capital One is a possible, lose to Clemson and it looks like the 4th trip to the Outback Bowl since 2000 for USC
Georgia- Assuming the Dogs don't win in Atlanta then they are likely to end up in the Capital One or Cotton Bowl at 10-3. At 9-4 they likely go to the Outback Bowl
Auburn- If I'm an Auburn fan I'm buying tickets to the Chick Fil A Bowl right now, unless Florida beats FSU. Then its possible UF gets the bid to Atlanta and Auburn slips to The Gator Bowl
Florida- Likely headed to The Gator Bowl if they don't beat FSU. If they finish 7-5 then The Chick Fil A will choose between UF and AU
Tennessee- At 6-6 The Vols probably head back to The Music City Bowl
Mississippi State- At 6-6 MSU is probably going to The Liberty Bowl or BBVA Bowl. If Southern Miss is the team from CUSA then expect The Liberty Bowl to choose MSU over a 6-6 Vandy team to setup a certainly sellout between MSU and USM
Vanderbilt- If Vandy can get to 6-6 they likely are going to the BBVA Bowl in Birmingham, but there is still the chance the Liberty could take Vandy. Of course if MSU and UT fail to win this weekend then Vandy would be in the Music City Bowl.
